What is Solo Power®?
Solo Power® is the philosophy behind how we help freelance marketers build stronger, more sustainable businesses. It’s based on a simple belief: one person can build a serious marketing business, when they’re supported by the right structure, strategy and support.
Why she created it
Katie's story
Katie started out as a freelance marketer back in 2013, after leaving a corporate career convinced that working for herself would finally bring freedom. What she found instead was longer days, constant pressure, and a business that could only grow if she worked more hours.
She later joined Activ herself as a franchise Partner, living the model from the inside before taking on the network as CEO, transforming and growing it since 2021.
Over the years, working with hundreds of clients and later supporting Activ’s own franchise partners, she saw the same pattern everywhere. Brilliant marketers were not struggling because they lacked talent. They were struggling because they were trying to build a business without structure, strategy or support behind them.
Solo Power® is what came out of that. Katie believes one thing very strongly: structure creates freedom. When marketers build from structure, everything changes, the work becomes calmer, growth becomes predictable, and confidence becomes the default.
That belief sits behind everything Activ teaches and everything Activ builds.
Many freelance marketers are excellent at delivering marketing. The real challenge is running the business around it, winning work consistently, structuring services, managing clients and growing without burnout. Solo Power® focuses on three core pillars that help solve that challenge.
